How much do California real estate agents take home after each close? There are a few things to consider. First, the total commission paid by sellers can range anywhere from 1-6%. The standard rate is 5% but for high priced properties (i.e $1+ million) it may be more like 4 -5%. The average salary is $48,543 but salaries can vary widely depending on factors like education and certifications or years experience - ranging from the low end at about 47 thousand dollars all up until 61 seven hundred fifty four two five six.
