Andrei Kirilenko, the former NBA All-Star and newly elected president of the Russian Basketball Federation, has bought a contemporary-style compound in Bel-Air for $5.55 million.

The walled and gated home, designed for indoor-outdoor entertaining, features sliding glass walls, multiple entertaining decks and a swimming pool and spa.

Within the 4,350 square feet of space are open plan living areas with raised ceilings, a center-island kitchen, an office and a master suite with a large soaking tub. A lower-level bonus area has a large wine cellar.

Floor-to-ceiling walls of glass center on city and ocean views.

A total of five bedrooms and five bathrooms includes the four-bedroom main house and a guesthouse with a gym. Two detached garages, a motor court and a flat grass yard make up the nearly three-acre grounds.

The house came on the market in the middle of August for $5.85 million and was under contract in less than a week, records show.

Sally Forster Jones of John Aaroe Group was the listing agent. Alla Furman of Hilton & Hyland represented the buyer.

After finishing the year with Russian club CSKA Moscow, the forward retired in June and in August was elected president of the Russian Basketball Federation, which was suspended by international basketball governing body FIBA earlier this year.

Kirilenko and wife Masha Lopatova previously owned a Traditional-style home overlooking Stone Canyon Reservoir in Bel-Air. Set on more than half an acre, the 2,285-square-foot house sold off-market in March for $3.4 million.
